Gemischter Satz is a wine from different grape varieties that are grown together in a single vineyard. The grapes are hand-harvested together and are also processed together. It’s the most traditional way of planting in Austria. Among the varieties in Ingrid Groiss’s Gemischter Satz are Chardonnay, Müller Thurgau, Welschriesling, Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Grauburgunder, Pinot Blanc, Frühroter Veltliner, Neuburger, Zierfandler, Rotgipfler, Sämling, Roter Veltliner, Grauer Vöslauer, Hietl Rote, Weiße Vöslauer and Silberweiße.
Certified organic. Brilliant very pale straw almost water like colour with a greenish tinged outskirts. Aromas of green apple, pear and lime are unified with hints of mandarin, subtle fresh herbs and stony mineral notes. Mouth watering flavours of spicy lime and green apple are backed by tangy acidity with notions of mandarin and a flinty minerality flowing onto the crisp dry finish. Excellent intensity with a rounded river stone like mouthfeel. The delicious conclusion long and zesty.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 12.5%

Other Reviews….
Lemon notes on the nose come with a richer insinuation of ripe orange peel. The palate is fresh and bright, brimming with notions of apple and orange, Mirabelle and lemon, pitched against a zesty, pithy, lovely texture. The finish is dry and lipsmacking.
