2019 Giant Steps Wombat Creek Vineyard Chardonnay

Matured for 10 months in 20% new and 80% used French oak. Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Refined yet showing good intensity the nose presents elevated white peach and dried honey scents followed by some ripe nectarine, biscuity oak, nougat and spice notes. Medium weighted the palate has fleshy peach and nectarine fruits which meld into dried honey, light biscuity oak and spicy nougat characters which give it a gentle creamy textural feel. Good freshness finishing with an understated yet persistently long aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
