Light to medium weight the palate possesses richness, flesh and power delivering a combination of dark cherry and strawberry fruits which are supple on entry and expansive. Other Reviews….
Curly Flat has made its name on powerfully-built examples of the variety, fruit often matched step-by-step by oak. There’s cedary oak here but it’s been dialled back while, at the same time, tannin has been dialled up. This wine has fruit but it also has a great emphasis on structure. It’s not chunky, it’s chalky and dry, effectively mineral, almost quartz-like. It brings gravitas to the Curly Flat equation. I looked at this wine over the course of 24 hours and every time I did my score on it went up. Drink 2022-2029+

Campbell Mattinson – The Wine Front

An impressive 2019 from Curly Flat with a spectrum of ripe red and dark-cherry aromas and trademark, sappy and spicy notes, too. The palate is delivered as a succulent and velvety array of ripe tannin that carries concentrated cherry fruit flavor. Intense and mouth-filling finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
