2019 Coates The Pinot Noir

Matured for 12 months in one third new French oak. Dark red core with tinges of black around the edges and a light red hue. Wonderfully fragrant violet scents lead the attack on the nose with ripe dark cherry, strawberry and a whiff of raspberry in hot pursuit. Anise, subtle forest floor, fresh herb and spicy cedar notes then chime in. Light and fresh, the palate has a fruity flavour profile of ripe cherries and strawberries which are underpinned by delicate notions of anise, forest floor and fresh herb infusions. Good power finishing with a lick of vibrant acidity. Silky tannins flowing into a delicious uncomplicated aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
