Rich, sleek and long, this is a highly seductive Pinot.
Sourced from several locations in the Great Southern region, the fruit for this Pinot was fermented using a combination of wild fermentation and selected yeasts. Maturation took place in 1-3 year old French oak barrels for 6 months.
Semi translucent dark red colour with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Ample in its intensity, fragrant scents of violets, red to dark cherries and ripe strawberries blossom out of the glass trailed by some anise, subtle toasty cedar and spicy dried herbs. Rich, supplely textured flavours of spicy red to dark cherries and strawberries stretch across the breadth of the palate showing excellent power and depth. Lingering in the background are toasty cedar and dried clove elements. Silky smooth tannins add polish and lead into a long seductive aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
