The DJW vineyard was planted by John and son Daniel Wilson in 1997. At the time, the aim was to produce additional fruit for the successful Wilson Polish Hill River Riesling but the vineyard had other ideas. From the first vintage it was immediately obvious that the DJW vineyard was quite different from the Polish Hill River vineyard. The grapes and bunches were larger and the vineyard produced a spectrum of flavours that had their own unique qualities. As a consequence a new Riesling was born and was named after the single vineyard from where it originates, the DJW.

Brilliant very pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Pronounced aromas of lime juice intermix with citrus, green apple and orange rind followed by talc and mineral end notes. Mouth watering lemon and lime juice flavours band together giving the wine a racy feel. Subtle orange rind and steely mineral characters make an appearance on the crisp dry finish. Excellent power with a long lemon sherbet, lime, subtle orange rind and steely mineral aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 12.5%
