Torzi Matthews entry level Shiraz is sourced from the Frost Dodger vineyard but does not utilise any of the rack dried fruit. It is aged old Frost Dodger barrels as well as 10% new and seasoned French oak for a period of 15 months. This years vintage has 25% whole bunch inclusion.

‘A lip smacking Barossa Shiraz layered with rich, sumptuous fruit that has a velvety feel.’

Impenetrable inky black core with a deep bright dark red black hue. Jumping out of the glass are intense aromatics of black cherries, dark plums, blueberries and liquorice which meld into vanillin cedar, dried herbs and spice. Delivering outstanding drive and concentration for its price, the rich, plush palate is decorated with delicious fresh blackberry, dark plum, blueberry and liquorice fruit which is underpinned by fresh juicy acidity. Elements of vanillin cedar, light earth, fennel and spicy pepper add interest. Silky smooth tannins with a long powerful finish showing plenty of polish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Other Reviews….
This wine comes in at under $20 if you shop around. That’s incredible value. Dom Torzi sets a modest price, but is invariably confident about the quality of his wines.
Bright blueberry and blackberry, plenty of pepper and spice, potpourri perfume. It’s medium bodied, sleek and dark cherry juicy, super fine tannin, some meaty and nutty flavours, gentle stony tannin pulling along the finish. Drink 2019-2028+
