Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Aromas of dark cherries and ripe strawberries are complimented by subtle anise, scorched earth, dried meats and spicy herbs. Rich dark cherry and strawberry fruits have a silky feel over dried herb, lightly scorched earth, dried meat and spicy cedar elements. Velvet smooth tannins with good power and a long dark fruited aftertaste that has nuances if dried herbs filtering through it.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
The nomenclature refers to Block I and straight 777 clone, an earlier ripening Dijon clone. The vineyard is cared for holistically, sans accreditation. The future, perhaps? Because this is an exceptional Adelaide Hills pinot. As good as the region gives us. Nothing root-spiced sarsaparilla about this. Thankfully. Truffled underbrush, cherry red and black and most joyously, fibrous svelte tannins and natural feeling acidity propelling this long. Very. The tannins growing in stature (30% whole bunch; classy French barrique) across the mouth. Bravo! Drink by 2025.
