2018 Sylvain Gauthier Domaine des Pierres Seches Syrah

Pitch black core with a deep bright dark purple black tinged hue. Inky blackberry and dark plum aromas intermingle with liquorice, scorched earth, subtle clove, dried meats and pepper. Medium bodied with a sense of refinement, the wine is still very much an adolescent. Rich freshly crushed dark fruits interplay with inky earth characters, vanillin cedar, infusions of fresh herbs and pepper. Bright youthful acidity, sturdy, slightly chewy tannins and a long savoury aftertaste.
