Frankland River is arguably the premier shiraz growing sub-region of Western Australia and is recognised for its distinctive black fruit and black pepper characters. This wine was aged in low toast French oak barriques for ten months and then given further time in bottle prior to release. Magnificent inky black heart with an equally deep black dark red hue. Intense liquorice and black cherry aromas infused with blackpepper drift out of the glass followed by smoked meats, dusty vanillin cedar and spicy black olives. Powerful rich black cherry, liquorice and blackberry fruits form an opulent yet meaty mouthfeel. Sitting in the background are peppered meats, scorched earth, black olives and subtle spicy cedar. Sternly built tannins impart some chewiness onto the inky finish yet are wholly synergistic with the fruit. The long robust aftertaste decorated with opulent black fruits, dried meats and blackpepper.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 14.4%

Hand-picked, open-fermented, 25 days on skins, matured for 10 months in French barriques. Singlefile is a model of consistency, delivering aromas and flavours of purity and intensity yet very elegant. Black cherry, plum, blackberry, spice and pepper flavours with a negligee of fine tannins. Drink by 2038.
