2018 Singlefile Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 15% Malbec matured in Bordeaux oak barriques (30% new) for a period of 13 months. Superb depth of colour displaying an impenetrable pitch black core with a bright dark red black tinged hue. Youthful freshly crushed red and black currant fruit scents dominate the nose with subtle liquorice, more prominent bay leaf, dusty cedar and spice notes ensuing. Medium bodied the palate is vibrantly fruited with red to black currants and mulberries over a back drop of spicy vanillin cedar, light earth and bay leaf. Slightly dryish fine grained tannins and bright acidity impart a chalky feel to the back palate. Youthful medium length conclusion.
