Cellar: 5 - 6 Years (2025-2026)

This Langhe Nebbiolo is second label for the Produttori del Barbaresco co-operative and it is made with the grapes from younger vines. It still has the quality necessary to be classified as Barbaresco, but the winery declassifies it in order to sell it at a younger age and maintain the Barbaresco quality at a high standard. Produced every year it ranges from 10% to 30% of the total production depending on the vintage (the better the vintage the less that is bottled under the “Nebbiolo” label as it is allocated instead to the Barbaresco).
Bright red colour with a light red hue. Aromas of red raspberries and strawberries have a subtle rose petal overlay with fresh herb, faint earthy iron and spice notes ensuing. Delicious juicy red cherry and raspberry fruits are backed by crunchy acidity and a stern tannin structure which provides the back palate with some grip. Elements of iron like crushed rock, lightly scorched earth and spicy fresh herb infusions are also present. Long muscular finish.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews…..
As a palate teaser before this lovely flight of Riservas from Produttori del Barbaresco, I am delighted to start off with the delicate and fine 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo. Showing a light ruby color, this wine takes baby steps with hints of wild rose, dried blueberry, crushed limestone and powdered licorice. It sports a fragile, fine texture. If you crave for a basic and absolutely satisfying taste of pure Nebbiolo, look no further. Drink 2020-2026.
