2018 Peter Lehmann H&V Hill and Valley Tempranillo

Matured for 12 months in oak hogsheads. Totally opaque black as night colour with a bright dark purple hue. Aromas of freshly crushed dark cherries combine with liquorice, hints of vanillin confectionary and light spice. On the palate there’s good size and generosity to the rich dark cherry, liquorice and dark raspberry fruit. Traces of vanillin oak and spice sit beneath. A fleshy mouthfeel is backed by sturdy yet polished tannins. Lacks some complexity but there’s good depth finishing with a long savoury aftertaste.
