The hits keep coming from the spectacular 2018 Margaret River vintage, one that winemaker Larry Cherubino rates 9.75 out 10 and states “This vintage could go down as one of the best in the last 25 years for the region.” That’s a big statement when one considers the run of great vintages out of Margaret River over the last decade alone.
Fruit for this wine is sourced from a range of vineyards located throughout the Margaret River region with aging taking place in a combination of new and 1-2 year old French oak barrels for a period of 10 months.

A delightfully expressive Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon layered with rich blackcurrant fruit.

Opens with spectacular depth of colour, inky black at its heart with a very deep dark red black hue. Pronounced blackcurrant aromatics are complexed by black olive and bay leaf notes with dusty cedar, tobacco and spice elements ensuing. Medium to full bodied the palate is awash with rich blackcurrant fruits which are underpinned by notions of black olive, spicy cigar box and bay leaf. Well integrated tannins provide a sturdy structure yet are still fine grained in their feel. Excellent depth with an aftertaste that’s long, youthful and rich.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews….
From vineyards in Wilyabrup, matured in French oak for 12 months. It ticks all the boxes with its cassis fruit on the one hand, firm cabernet tannins on the other providing all-up balance. Exceptional value for a wine with an extended drinking window of opportunity. Drink by 2033.
