Yalumba’s Robert Hill Smith and Louisa Rose of Pewsey Vale & Heggies fame are intrinsically linked with Eden Valley Riesling. They had also long admired the potential of Tasmanian Riesling, so when the opportunity came up to work with a unique site of mature Riesling vines they jumped at it. Located in the Coal River valley, this small block of Riesling is hidden in the midst of larger plantings of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines.

An enthralling Riesling displaying a combination of intensity, texture and power backed by bracing cool climate acidity.

Brilliant water like core with a distinct ring of green around the outskirts. Pronounced lime, lemon and granny smith apple aromas are married to wet steel and flinty talc like notes. Showing both volume and intensity, mouth watering lemon and lime fruits drive the palate with notions of granny smith apple, wet steel and flinty mineral characters lying underneath. Terrific power and focus finishing dry with a burst of crunchy acidity on the long snappy aftertaste.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
