2018 Paolo Petrilli Motta del Lupo

Certified organic this is a blend of 50% Nero di Troia, 20% Montepulciano, 15% Sangiovese and 15% Bombino from the Cacc'e Mmitte di Lucera appellation. Very deep dark red black colour with a dark red hue. Elevated black and dried cherry aromas combine with plum, liquorice, earthy dried herbs and cinnamon spice. Medium to full bodied with a soft mid palate feel, generous flavours of dark cherries and plum and laced with dried herbs fill the mouth. Elements of earth and a touch of cinnamon spice sit underneath. Finishes with a lick of fresh acidity and grainy tannins. Ripe, slightly chewy aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
