Matured for 12 months in oak, 30% of which was new. Semi translucent bright dark red colour with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Fragrant red cherry, wild strawberry and subtle anise aromas have a light violet overlay with dried herb, forest floor and spicy cedar ensuing. Delicious rich red to dark cherry and wild strawberry fruits cascade across the lightly weighted palate with terrific power melding into dried herb, subtle anise, forest floor and spicy cedar elements along the way. Smooth, supple mouthfeel with a clip of bright underlying acidity lending freshness. Silky tannins finishing with a long expansive aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Other Reviews…..
Tasting alongside the Red Hill offering, and the Leo, for me, it’s the king of this particular jungle. The glass is cut
The bottle run dry. etc.
Fresh, frisky, strawberry and mint, perfumed too, and a modest amount of smoky earthiness. Limpid and fine, cool feeling, with a stroke of emery tannin, sap and spice, and a lively finish of excellent length. Beautifully made and so pleasing to drink. Touch and go for a higher score.
