The Oliver family have been growing grapes in McLaren Vale since the 1840s. Their descendants arrived from Scotland and settled in the McLaren Vale district, raising sheep and cattle as well as establishing an orchard and vineyard. Today, the emphasis still remains on growing super premium quality grapes for other winemakers (around 85% of their production is sold to the likes of Penfolds, d’Arenberg, Wirra Wirra etc) whilst a small portion of the best fruit is retained for sale under their own Oliver's Taranga label.

Layered with rich, lush fruits and packed with power, this is one seductive McLaren Vale Shiraz.

Dense inky black colour with an equally deep dark red black hue. Wafting from the glass are heady aromatics of blackberry, liquorice and dark chocolate trailed by hints of dried herbs, vanillin cedar and spicy black olive. Rich and luxurious in its feel the palate is flooded with opulently textured blackberry, dark plum, liquorice and dark chocolate fruits which overlay a back drop of blueberry, vanillin cedar and spicy mocha. Superb power and depth with silky smooth tannins leading into a long plush aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
