Winemaker Kevin Mitchell has a talent for producing budget priced offerings that offer amazing value under the Kilikanoon Killerman’s Run label. Made in the style of a Southern Rhone blend the wine was matured in a range of seasoned French oak hogsheads for 16 months. The three grape varieties all sit in perfect sync with one another to deliver a brilliant buy.
Boasting terrific richness and depth, this GSM blend is a real surprise packet for the price.
Deep dark red black colour with a bright dark red hue. Pronounced dark raspberry, plum and liquorice aromas rise out of the glass with some vanillin oak and spice notes also present. Medium to full bodied, the palate possesses terrific levels of richness and depth that make it a real surprise packet for the price. The mouth is flush with succulent dark raspberry, dark plum and liquorice fruit which is interwoven with vanillin oak and faint scorched earth. Spicy finish with velvety tannins. The long juicy aftertaste layered with ripe dark fruits.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
