Matured in French oak casks (one third new) for 20 months. Semi translucent bright red to dark red colour with a light red hue. Perfumed like, the nose expels aromas of spicy ripe red cherries, winter strawberries and rose petals followed by forest floor, a subtle meatiness, infusions of fresh herbs and spicy cedar. Rich yet light on its feet, delicious red to dark cherry and strawberry fruits are carried by a terrific power wave of flavour that expands across the palate like a peacocks tail. Bright, balanced acidity provides poise and focus with elements of forest floor, infusions of fresh herbs, a light meatiness and spicy cedar also chiming in. Supple in its feel with finely etched tannins giving the wine an excellent structure. Concludes long and moreish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 13.4%

Other Reviews….
A striking edition of this single-vineyard bottling from the outstanding 2018 vintage, one that elevates the Hurley name to the top tier of Australian pinot noir. This has such strikingly complete and authentic character. The freshness and complexity of red fruit, dried spice, wet stones, citrus zest and cedary oak is so beautifully assembled. The palate offers pure red cherries, supported by super fine, smooth-rendered tannins, delivering a brand of elegance and measured power that defines great pinot noir the world over. Stunning. Drink or hold.
