After a high flying career in marketing Ingrid Groiss returned to her family origins, enrolling in viticulture, oenology and wine marketing at the University of Vienna. During those studies gained experience with producers such as Domäne Wachau, Birgit Braunstein and Birgit Eichinger. She had to play second fiddle to her chief winemaker dad until in 2010 when she went head-to-head with him in a blind taste-off of their own wines, with the victor being handed the winemaker's reins. Needless to say Ingrid came out on top.
Brilliant pale straw colour with a distinct greenish tinge to the outskirts and a watery hue. Pronounced ripe pear aromas meld with peach, hints of honeysuckle, red apple and light spice. Nicely textured with a rounded mid palate feel, mouthfilling flavours of ripe pears, red apples and subtle honeysuckle characters sit over a stony mineral back drop. Finishes dry with brisk acidity and a medium to long ripe pear, red apple, light honeysuckle and stony mineral aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 12.5%

Other Reviews….
White pepper, crushed sage and a touch of citrus promise savoriness. The palate delivers with full-on white pepper spiciness, slender freshness and lovely, pithy, salty, yeasty texture. This is a little pepper bomb full of life and verve. The finish is dry and appetizing.
