Sourced from vines aged between 18-75 years old with maturation taking place predominately in second and third fill French hogsheads and puncheons for 22 months. Dense inky black colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Blossoming from the glass are ripe blackcurrant and liquorice aromas followed by vanillin cedar, hints of dusty earth and bay leaf. Rich and full in body, the palate is flush with opulent blackcurrant and liquorice fruits which overlay a back drop of vanillin cedar, subtle tobacco elements and spicy dried herbs. Polished, velvet like tannins show good underlying structure. Concludes long, rich and fleshy.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.7%

Other Reviews....
This is Eden Valley dominant and has aromas of violets, blueberries, black cherries and dark berry pastry with attractive, cedar and fresh-tobacco notes. The palate offers very attractive chocolate, plum paste and licorice. Smoothly layered tannins with blueberry flavor and a little oak spice to close. Great concentration. Drink over the next eight years.
