Grüner Veltliner is Austria’s most important grape variety making up approximately one third of the country’s total production. In Wachau in general and at Domäne Wachau in particular, this percentage is even higher at more than 50%. A multiplicity of styles can be produced from the Grüner Veltliner grape, a prime example being those under the Federspiel classification which have a maximum alcohol content of 12.5%.

Bright pale straw colour with a faint glimmer of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Aromas of ripe pear and lime intermix with faint honeysuckle, light spicy quince and slatey mineral notes. Delicious ripe pear and lime flavours gently infused with fresh herbs have a well rounded feel. Subtle quince and slatey mineral characters make an appearance on the back palate. Finishes dry with fresh acidity and a long aftertaste that has a touch of lingering spice to it. Great summer drinking.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
Alc. 12.5%

Other Reviews….
Green apple, a little white pepper and herb, sour mango. Juicy, big burst of green apple and spice, fine powdery texture, light acid crunch with a yeasty weightiness, good finish. Wholly satisfying and classic expression of Grüner. I’m having a nice little glass of it now. Drink 2019-2023.
