2018 Domaine Metrat et Fils Chiroubles

From vines over 60 years old. Dark red colour with black tinged edges and a bright purple red hue. Perfumed scents of violets, red cherries, strawberries and incense blossom from the glass with clove, fragrant herb and spicy earth notes also evident. Fresh crunchy red cherry and red currant flavours intermesh with infusions of incense, dusty earth and spice. Bright underlying acidity with slightly dryish, grainy tannins. Excellent length with a savoury and vibrant finish.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
