Semi translucent dark red core with a slight tinge of black to the edges and a light red hue. The complex bouquet is comprised of ripe red cherries and strawberries intermeshed with hints of violets, smoked meats, forest floor and subtle spicy cedar notes. On the palate delicious dark cherry and ripe strawberry fruits flood the mouth giving it a supple and expansive feel. Elements of forest floor, delicately toasted cedar and spicy dried herbs then make an appearance. Bright underlying acidity and polished tannins. Excellent power wave with a long spicy aftertaste that has a sense of juiciness to it.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
From the Lone Star Creek vineyard in Woori Yallock. I’d like to see winemaker Chris Bendle wearing a sheriff’s outfit. Cherry, dark raspberry, petrichor, hazelnut and sweet spices. Medium-bodied, supple and flavoursome, lovely spread of powder fine tannin, a juicy cherry and gently earthy flavour, and a cool raspberry finish. Pretty and delicate, but plenty of power through the back end. Drink 2020-2028.
