A rich, firmly built Cabernet that shows outstanding depth.
Matured in some new but predominately older French oak barriques for 18 months.
Superb colour featuring a pitch black core and a very deep dark red black hue. Drawing comparisons to Carmenere the nose sees elevated blackcurrant and mulberry aromas infused with tobacco leading the way followed by dusty cedar, dried herb and spice notes. Full bodied, rich blackcurrant, liquorice and ripe mulberry fruits engulf the mouth underscored by cedary tobacco characters, traces of earth and spicy herbs. Excellent structure with ripe firm tannins imparting a sturdy feel to the back palate. Outstanding depth with a long ripe, firmly built finish.
Cellar 5-6 years.
