2018 Cullen Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

Certified organic with maturation taking place in French oak, 25% new for an average of 6 months, this wine is a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Midnight black dark red core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Fragrant scents of dark to black currant, liquorice and a touch of mulberry blossom out of the glass trailed by dusty vanillin cedar, tobacco, dried herbs and spice notes. Medium bodied with plenty of richness right through to the back end, the elegant palate is blessed with dark to black currant and mulberry fruits. Cedar, tobacco, earth and spicy herb elements then chime in. Dry, slightly chalky tannins with youthfully fresh acidity and a medium length conclusion.
