Aged in French oak hogsheads. Magnificent inky black colour, showing terrific depth, with a dark purple black hue. Nosing reveals a mix of blackberry, liquorice and black cherry scents infused with blackpepper followed by some smoky vanillin cedar, earth and spice. Rich, bold blackberry, liquorice and black cherry fruits have a lush feel. Vanillin cedar, scorched earth and blackpepper characters tailing off onto the muscular finish. Excellent intensity with a stern yet quite polished framework of tannins. Long, slightly chewy aftertaste. Needs some time to unwind and reach its full potential.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Our new puppy is arriving tomorrow, and his name is Lloyd. Or L Loyd is I like to say (as in luh loyd, phonetically). Blackberry and blueberry, dark chocolate and hazelnuts, some spice and tar. It’s full-bodied, dense and flavoursome, packed silty tannin, a savoury ferrous kind of thing happening, even acidity, and a bright almost brambly finish. It’s a good release. Age-worthiness is assured. Drink 2020-2035+
