2018 Bernard Baudry Chinon Les Granges

Excellent depth of colour with a midnight black core and a bright dark purple red hue. Soaring out of the glass is a fragrant bouquet of crushed red currants and cherries infused with herbs and a whiff of violets. Earth, tobacco and spice notes ensue. On the palate vibrant acidity underpins lively ripe red currant and raspberry fruits with infusions of fresh herbs, a stony earthiness and spice then moving in. Dryish finish with slightly chalky tannins and a delicious crunchy red fruited conclusion that’s infused with violets.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
