2018 Amisfield Pinot Noir

Set against the backdrop of the majestic Pisa mountain range, Amisfield is one of the largest single estate vineyards in Central Otago. This ripe, weighty style of Pinot Noir saw approximately 10% whole bunch fruit included in the ferments with maturation taking place in tight grain French oak (20% new) for a period of 15 months.
Deep bright dark red core with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Soaring out of the glass are powerful aromatics of violets, ripe dark cherries, plum and anise which are complimented by toasty cedar, forest floor and spicy herb notes. Mid weighted and rich, the intensely flavoured palate is flooded with an expansive wave of ripe dark cherry and spicy dark plum fruits which meld into toasty cedar, anise, forest floor and dried herb characters. Fleshy textural feel with velvet like tannins and a long driving aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
