- ABV 14.5%
- Closure: Stelvin
Sourced from West Cape Howe’s best blocks of Mount Barker Cabernet Sauvignon this wine was matured for 18 months in a selection of new (30%) and older French oak barriques and then given a further 12 months bottle age before being released. A touch of Malbec was also included for extra richness and complexity.
Totally opaque black dark red core with a dark red hue. Elevated blackcurrant aromas merge into black olive, cigar box, earthy dried herbs and subtle spicy bay leaf notes. Filling the medium weighted palate are rich blackcurrant and mulberry fruits which are underpinned by subtle cigar box, black olive, earthy dried herb and spice nuances. Refined feel with polished tannins and a long savoury aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
