2017 The Story Wines Once Upon a Clime Grampians Syrah

Midnight black dark red colour with a dark red. Nosing reveals an aromatic profile of plum, blueberry and red liquorice which has a dried clove like overlay. Meaty characters, smoky cedar and light pepper are also evident. The savoury mid weighted palate has a fleshy feel dishing up plum and red liquorice fruits that are gently infused with clove over some meatiness, light earth and spicy cedar. Fine grained tannins concluding with a medium length aftertaste that has a sense of elegance to it.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.

I'm mystified by the amazingly low price, which caused me to check twice to verify. It's spicy, peppery, juicy, and a whole lot more tied in with its multi-berry fruits and supportive tannins. Drink by 2040.
