As Clare Valley’s oldest winery, Sevenhill has a plentiful supply of old vine resources it can draw on. Their entry level Inigo Shiraz utilises fruit sourced from the Brother Lenz dry grown block (planted in 1973-1974) and the Brother Dan block (planted in 1973). These older vines combined with more recently planted blocks provide fruit of great depth and diversity. Maturation took place in a mixture of new French oak barrels (25%) and older French and American oak.

Deeply concentrated, this is a rich, opulent Clare Shiraz with plenty of underlying structure.

Impenetrable pitch black core with a deep dark red black hue. Elevated liquorice, black cherry and blackberry aromas meld into subtlety toasted vanillin oak with traces of black olive and blackpepper also evident. Rich, sumptuous and full in body the palate is awash with opulently textured blackberry and liquorice flavours. Some black cherry, vanillin oak and spicy pepper elements then chime in. Firm, slightly chewy tannins provide backbone. Excellent concentration and power with a long spicy black fruited aftertaste.
