2017 Savaterre Frere Cadet Chardonnay

Matured for 18 months in French oak. Brilliant pale straw colour with a distinct tint of green to the outskirts and a watery hue. Intense white peach and ripe nectarine aromas dominate the nose with elements of dried honey, biscuity oak, citrus and gun flint also apparent. Rich with a gentle creaminess to the textural feel, the palate is bursting with concentrated fleshy white peach and ripe nectarine fruit that’s infused with funky struck match stick and lees characters. Fresh vibrant finish with complexing elements of dried honey, lightly toasted biscuity oak, citrusy nougat and spice also chiming in. Outstanding power with a lingering white peach, biscuity oak, dried honey, nougat and gun flint aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
