2017 Ring Bolt Cabernet Sauvignon

Fruit for the Ring Bolt was sourced from a selection of sites, most being around the Margaret River’s flagship Wilyabrup sub-region, close to the Indian Ocean. Maturation took place in a combination of new American and French oak barriques (13%) with the balance in one year and older American, Hungarian and French oak hogheads and barriques for a period of 8 months. Trophy winner at the Royal Queensland Wine Show 2018 for Best Cabernet Sauvignon.

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a vibrant dark red hue. Fragrant ripe red currant and mulberry aromas tinged by notions of bay leaf overlay cedary tobacco characters and spicy dried herb notes. Rich ripe red currant and mulberry flavours meld into dusty cedar characters on the medium bodied, elegantly built palate. Elements of tobacco, dried herbs and spicy bay leaf ensue. Slightly dryish but fine grained tannins. Finishes with a touch of youthful acidity and a long spicy ripe red currant, mulberry, dusty cedar, dried herb and bay leaf aftertaste.
