Matured in French oak for approximately 18 months. Semi translucent bright dark red core with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Perfumed scents of violets, ripe red to dark cherries, strawberries, forest floor, subtle dried meats, infusions of dried herbs and light spicy cedar blossom out of the glass. Delicious ripe red cherry and strawberry flavours show terrific intensity across the supplely textured palate. Notions of undergrowth, game, dried herbs and spicy cedar sit beneath the fruit. Silky smooth tannins. Excellent power wave with a long spicy red fruited aftertaste that’s complexed by elements of forest floor, dried meats and herbs.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.3%

Other Reviews….
There's always a restraint to the suite of pinots from Principia even if this falls into the fuller and fleshier camp, it's still ethereal. Tastes more of whole-bunches/berries, tangy and sapid with cherries and pips, blood orange and zest yet savoury. Then svelte tannins and acidity glide as one across the palate leaving a craving for another sip. Drink by 2030.
