Pirathon is an ancient word for pinnacle with Shiraz considered to be Barossa’s pinnacle grape variety. Previously simply known as Pirathon Shiraz, with the addition of other wines to the Pirathon stable, this wine is now labelled as Silver Shiraz. Fruit is sourced from a variety of Barossa’s top sub districts including Greenock, Moppa, Belvedere, Stonewell, Seppeltsfield, Koonunga and Ebenezer with the resultant wine matured for 18 months in a combination of new and seasoned American, French, Russian and Hungarian oak hogsheads.

Plump, rich and sumptuous this is a dangerously drinkable Barossa Shiraz.

Impenetrable inky black heart with a deep dark red black hue. Wafting from the glass are intoxicating aromatics of liquorice, dark plum and blackberries which are complimented by vanillin oak, fennel, light mocha and spice. Rich and luxurious, the densely concentrated palate is lavishly appointed with blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits which fully engulf the mouth. Toasty vanillin oak, traces of mocha, fennel and spicy pepper fill out the back half. Plush and opulent with silky smooth tannins, finishing long and sumptuous.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
