McLaren Vale, South Australia, AUSTRALIA
$22. 99
Bottle
$275.88 Dozen
Cellar: Drink now - 6 Years (2020-2026)
ABV: 15%
Closure: Stelvin

Sourced from 100 year old dry grown Grenache vines located at the Dogridge vineyard that were destined to be bulldozed. 15% whole bunch fruit was included. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. The nose exudes dark raspberry, ripe cherry and liquorice scents with trailing provincial herb, scorched earth and vanilla spice notes. Rich and juicy the palate is an explosion of dark raspberry, dark cherry and liquorice fruits with vanillin confectionary, light earth and spice sitting underneath. Well integrated tannins show great polish. Finishes exceptionally powerful with a long succulent aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 15%

Other Reviews....
Borne of a centurion plot of grenache vines destined to be bulldozed during the government's misguided ‘Vine Pull Scheme', this full-weighted grenache digs deep across Christmas cake spice, booze-soused raspberry and peppery briar to orange zest high tones, welded to a hard, crunchy conclusion. Unashamedly McLaren Vale. Drink by 2024.
