2017 Mitolo Jester Shiraz

The vineyards for the Jester Shiraz are located at the southern end of McLaren Vale where the combination of cool sea breezes, gully winds and heavy clay soils provide ideal growing conditions for the production of intensely flavoured Shiraz. Maturation takes place in oak barrels, 10% new, for a period of 18 months.
Pitch black heart with a deep dark red black hue. Pronounced ripe blackberry and liquorice aromas dominate the nose followed by black cherries, earthy fennel, toasty vanillin oak and blackpepper notes. Rich, full bodied and very plush in its feel the palate is flooded with opulent black cherry, liquorice and blackberry fruits which are gently infused with vanillin oak, earthy fennel elements, black olive and spicy pepper. Velvety tannins enhancing the wines sumptuous feel. Long aftertaste laden with lavish black fruits.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
