2017 John Duval Wines Plexus Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre

Barossa Valley, South Australia, AUSTRALIA
$34. 99
Bottle
$419.88 Dozen
Cellar: Drink now - 6 Years (2020-2026)
ABV: 14%
Closure: Stelvin

Made from a blend of 51% Shiraz, 32% Grenache and 17% Mourvedre with 87% of the fruit coming from Barossa Valley and the balance from Eden Valley. Maturation took place in French oak hogsheads, 10% of which were new, for a period of 15 months.

Visually opaque with a black dark red colour and a dark red hue. Scented aromas of blackberry, liquorice and dark raspberries intermingle with vanillin oak, hints of dark chocolate and spice. Supplely textured and rich, the palate is flush with liquorice, blackberry, dark plum and raspberry fruit which is underpinned by elements of vanillin cedar, faint earthy dark chocolate and spice. Excellent power with satiny tannins leading into a long fleshy dark fruited aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews….
Vibrant, with blackberry, blueberry and spiced plum flavors that are fresh, plump and generous at the core. Impressively elegant and seamless, featuring fresh earth, spice and floral notes that linger effortlessly alongside fine-grained tannins. Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2037.
