Home Hill is one of your classic Australian vineyard retreats that functions as both a serious winery and a charming getaway with restaurant included. The focus here is primarily on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sylvaner and Sparkling wine, but their track record really shines with Pinot. Over recent vintages they have clearly established themselves as one of Tasmania’s best and most consistent producers of the varietal, culminating in their 2014 Home Hill Reserve Pinot Noir taking out the Jimmy Watson Trophy. This wine recently cleaned up at the 2018 Australian and New Zealand Wine Show winning 4 trophies for the best Pinot Noir of Show, Estate Grown & Produced trophy, Best Red Wine of Show and Best Wine of Show.

Deep dark red black tinged core with a bright dark red hue. Perfumed aromatics of violets, dark cherries and ripe strawberries flow through the nostrils underscored by hints of anise, forest floor and spice. Rich and seductive with a supple feel and superb power wave, mouthfilling dark cherry and ripe strawberry flavours laced with violets and subtle anise roll across the palate. Elements of forest floor, dried meats and spicy cedar are also present. Silky smooth, perfectly integrated tannins pairs with beautifully balanced acidity. The conclusion long and expansive.
Cellar 6-8 years.
