2017 Gibson The Dirtman Shiraz

A blend of 89% Barossa Valley and 11% Eden Valley fruit matured in a mixture of 70% American (30% new) and 30% new and second use French oak hogsheads for a period of 16 months. Black as night core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Sailing out of the glass are heady aromatics of anise, liquorice and blackberry with vanillin oak, hints of dark chocolate, confectionary and spice ensuing. Full bodied, rich and plushly textured, flooding the palate are liquorice, dark plum and choc mint flavours with underpinnings of vanillin oak and spice. Silky smooth tannins. Excellent concentration with a long opulent aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
