A blend of 51% Pinot Noir and 49% Syrah sourced from the Primavera and Sexton vineyards with maturation taking place in seasoned French oak vats for 7 months. Vibrant dark red purple colour with a bright purple red hue. Fragrant aromatics of violets, red and dark cherries, strawberries and liquorice are overlaid by infusions of fresh herbs and hints of dried clove. Light to medium bodied, a ripe juicy mouthfeel is complimented by bright fresh acidity making for very moreish drinking. Vibrant flavours of ripe red cherries, strawberries and subtle red liquorice fill the mouth over subtle infusions of dried clove and other herbs. Finishes spicy with fresh youthful acidity. Finely grained tannins are largely undiscernible. Long savoury conclusion of ripe red cherries, strawberries, subtle infusions of dried clove and spice. Its light juicy freshness makes it ideal for drinking this summer or over the next 2 years.

Other Reviews…
This exciting new wine – LDR stands for Light Dry Red – is a 51/49 blend of pinot noir from the high altitude Primavera vineyard with shiraz/syrah from the Sexton vineyard. The inspiration is Beaujolais, with a nod to the Hunter.
You could guzzle this. It’d be pretty sophisticated guzzling, admittedly, but the freshness and flow of it almost begs you to dive in for more. It’s all fruit, spice and nuts, a sweetness to the fruit and a smoky/clovey character to the spice, some reduction working in the wine’s favour too. Tip top, bang on, recommended, no hesitation.
