2017 Fighting Gully Road Chardonnay

Fermented in a mixture of new and French oak hogsheads and aged on lees for 10 months. Brilliant pale straw colour with a very distinctive tinge of green around the edges and a watery hue. Intense white peach, ripe nectarine and dried honey aromas sail out of the glass closely followed by hints of bacon fat, citrusy nougat and light cashew notes. Generous mouthfilling flavours of fleshy white peach, nectarine and dried honey infused with notions of gun flint have a creamy feel. Smoky bacon fat, cashew and nougat characters follow on. Finishes dry with good balanced fresh acidity and a long richly textured aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
