Aged for 13 months in 28% new French oak barrels from artisan Burgundian coopers. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Intense spicy ripe dark cherry and strawberry aromatics with a violet overlay blossom from the glass. Ensuing are traces of anise, meaty forest floor like characters and lightly toasted spicy cedar. Rich, powerful and supple in texture the palate is greeted with a tidal wave of ripe dark cherry, strawberry, anise, toasty cedar, forest floor and spice flavours. Velvet smooth tannins. Magnificent length and drive concluding with a very moreish finish of spicy dark cherries, plum and strawberries laced with anise, toasty cedar and meaty forest floor characters.
Cellar 6-8 years.
