Epsilon is the project of Aaron and Julie Southern (Julie is a member of the Kalleske clan) who own vineyards in the Northern part of Barossa. As the familiar story goes with so many growers they sold off their fruit to larger wineries until a chance meeting with the Massena boys Dan Standish and Jaysen Collins. Under their guidance they convinced them to start up their own brand in 2004 and built a winery on the property. Sourced from a single vineyard the wine sees approximately 12 months in older French oak with only the best batches making the final blend.

Rich, opulent and brandishing an excellent power wave, yet light on its feet with a satiny feel.

Black as night in colour with a deep dark purple black tinged hue. Intense aromas of dark plums, liquorice and subtle black cherries laced with smoky vanillin cedar sail from the glass. Adding interest are ensuing spicy fennel, hints of dried meats and peppered herbs. Gliding across the palate like satin sheets is rich, plushly textured fruit that has an opulent yet refined elegance to it. Succulent flavours of dark plum, liquorice and wild dark cherries are wrapped up in silky tannins. Fennel, smoky vanillin cedar, light dried herbs and pepper form the undercard and provide complexity. Perfectly balanced acidity with a long moreish aftertaste of spicy dark plum, liquorice, ripe wild dark cherries, fennel, smoky cedar and pepper.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
