2017 Elderton Neil Ashmead Grand Tourer Shiraz

Matured in new French oak puncheons for 15 months. Midnight black in colour with a deep bright dark purple hue. Elevated spicy dark plum and liquorice aromas are carried by smoky vanillin cedar, light graphite and blackpepper notes. Rich, silky and plush the palate is awash with dark plum, liquorice and ripe dark cherry fruits. Sitting underneath are elements of spicy vanillin cedar, traces of fennel and pepper. Very smooth tannins have a polished feel and are perfectly integrated with the opulent fruit. Understated in its power, it concludes long and succulent.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
