Deep bright dark red core with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Pretty violet and red cherry scents intermingle with fresh herbs, light earth, a subtle meatiness and spicy cedar. Very elegant, the lighter bodied palate sees crunchy like red fruits blend into subtle elements of forest floor, infusions of fresh herbs, traces of dried meats, and spicy cedar. Slightly dryish finish with refined tannins and fresh acidity. Lingering red fruit and earthy mineral aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 13%

Other Reviews....
The 2017 Volnay Village bursts from the glass with an expressive bouquet of juicy red fruits, plums and currant leaf. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and expressive, with a juicy core of fruit and melting tannins. While it doesn't display as much substance as its 2016 counterpart, it's more elegantly rendered.

William Kelley - Wine Advocate (Feb 2019)

The 2017 Volnay is soft, open-knit and pliant, with lovely red berry fruit and floral character. Lifted, ethereal and gracious, the 2017 will drink nicely upon release.

Antonio Galloni - Vinous (July 2019)

A fresh, cool and bright nose combines plenty of spice elements with a variety of red berry scents. The sleek and beautifully well-detailed middle weight flavors exude a subtle minerality on the tension-filled and focused finish that is moderately firm. This lacy effort is very Volnay in character and it just makes one feel like drinking it.
