Totally opaque black dark red colour with a bright dark red hue. Prolific black raspberry and liquorice aromas lead the way with dark cherry, herb du Provence, light scorched earth and spicy pepper notes tailing off. Ripe and juicy with medium body weight the palate is decorated with delicious spicy black raspberry and liquorice fruits which sit over elements of earth, infusions of fresh herbs and incense as well as some pepper. Fleshy mouthfeel with polished yet sturdy tannins. Concludes with a medium to long aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years.
Alc. 15%

Other Reviews…..
The ruby/purple-hued 2017 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes is a finesse-oriented, medium to full-bodied wine from this estate that has classy notes of dark fruits, kirsch, sappy flowers, and peppery spice. With no hard edges and beautiful balance, it’s reminiscent of the 2011 and will drink nicely for 7-8 years or more. Drink 2019-2027.
