A blend of 40% Marsanne and 60% Roussanne. Brilliant pale straw colour with a distinctive tinge of green around the edges and a watery hue. Blissful aromatics of peaches, apricot and honeysuckle float through the nostrils with notions of lemon butter, nougat, faint toast and spice also chiming in. Long, texturally rounded and refined, delicious fleshy peach and apricot fruits have a silky feel as they meld into honeysuckle, lemon butter, nougat and subtle spicy toast nuances. Fresh acidity rounds out the long finish that has flashes of cinnamon making an appearance.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews....
More tropical fruits, exotic flowers, green tea, and salty minerality emerge from the 2017 Saint-Péray Les Figuiers, which is the top cuvée from Saint-Péray and is 60% Roussanne and 40% Marsanne. It’s a medium to full-bodied, nicely focused, even tight (which is rare in the vintage) white that stays seamless and elegant. Give bottles a year, and it’s going to keep for at least 7-8. It shows the saltiness that I almost always find in this terrific appellation.
